The Honey Bee Metalwork Sculpture #MadeByArtworks  

This incredible anatomically correct artwork was part of the 2016 Newcastle-under-Lyme Britain In Bloom and is part of a series of wildlife sculptures around the town.

The sculpture was created from pieces of sheet metal and the wings were 10mm steel rods, bent and welded into place.


The highly detailed piece took nearly 80 days to make from concept to installation.


This towering sculpture is over 5 metres high to the top of the flower. The bee
has a huge wingspan of over 3.5 metres.


270 Pieces of sheet steel were cut, formed and welded into lifelike features creating wings, antennae and petals.
