The Helping Hand Metalwork Sculpture #MadeByArtworks
This prominent sculpture proudly sits on a high traffic roundabout in Stoke-on-Trent.
The project features recycled scrap metal engineered by over one hundred different apprentices over six months. Each apprentice contributed to the large-scale sculpture which represents the philosophy of ‘helping up’ rather than ‘handing out’.
Over 300 pieces of individually crafted scrap steel make up this statement piece.
More than 100 young people each contributed a piece to this collaborative make.
This sculpture came together over 18 months, with learners coming into Artworks adding to its creation.
