The Traineeship will be a minimum of 6 weeks and no longer than 6 months.
The first 6 weeks of the Traineeship will be spent at our training centre where you will begin your work preparation training including the Level 1 qualification as well as personal and social development support and Maths and English.
After 6 weeks, you will be placed with a local employer in the care sector to undertake part-time work experience for 3 -4 days per week. In addition you will attend our training centre 1 day per week for regular reviews, short courses and to continue with your qualification and maths and English where required. Work placements can last up to 4-5 months.
During your Traineeship we will provide a weekly bursary plus support with travel costs and recommend-a-friend scheme, so you can start earning straight away.
What skills and qualifications will I gain?
The programme will include:
Work preparation training including a Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care and short courses in topics such as first aid, fire safety, food hygiene, infection control, moving and handling
- Personal and social development support
- Maths and English to support you with the numeracy and literacy skills needed in the workplace
- Work experience with local care providers to gain the skills and knowledge to progress

How can I progress?
We will work with you to identify your next steps which may include progressing into an Apprenticeship or moving into further or higher education.
What roles can it lead onto?
There are a variety of jobs in either adult social care or health care providing services within residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, a persons own home, clinical healthcare settings. Progression into care centred roles as well as support workers through to management and leadership roles where you can study at university via higher apprenticeships.
