Being part of a development role is a great way of picking the skills up you need to be able to move forward in your career within an office environment and with customer relations. This role will develop you to be an approachable member of staff who will be experienced on the phone, with work management and always has the customers interests at heart. It also allows you to experience being part of project management which looks particularly good on your CV.
This role sits in Aspire’s development team. Development refers to the team that project manage the development of new homes across Staffordshire and Cheshire. They work with housebuilders, contractors and a range of professional consultants, architects, lawyers, QS’s and others to deliver over 200 new homes each year.
They are seeking an apprentice to join the team to provide administrative support. You will be expected to undertake a range of tasks to support the team to deliver new homes including:
- Creating and maintaining scheme folders
- Scanning, circulating and filing documents
- Taking calls from customers and following up those calls
- Arranging meetings
- Updating records
During the course of the apprenticeship, Aspire will introduce you to their on-site role where you will accompany the development team to learn about site meetings, snagging and handover. During this stage they will also introduce you to Architect and QS partners where you will spend a short time to help you understand their role.
The development team find land, buy homes from housebuilders, manage construction contracts and manage regeneration projects designed to improve housing and public areas within their own and other estates. They also manage the sales of new homes on shared ownership and as Aspire move forward the outright sale of homes.
The development team are a key part of our desire to deliver more and better homes for their customers.
What is a Development apprentice?
Development refers to the team that project manage the development of our new homes. A development apprentice will learn all the aspects of this type of role which can be essential and a real asset when moving forward with a career in housing.

Applying English & Maths To This Role:
You will be working with excel spreadsheets so will need to be numerate.
Aspire speak to professionals and write reports as well as emails, written and spoken English of a high standard is needed.
- GCSE Maths and English 9-4 (A*- C) or Functional Skills as equivalent
- A driving licence is essential
Apprenticeship in Business Administration Level 2
This job role will give you good experience within three sectors, Business Administration, Customer Service and Project Management. This can be a fantastic stepping stone into a successful career in housing.
