Working in a busy workshop, with other highly skilled tradesmen and other apprentices in the Manufacture of High specification Gates and railing for domestic and industrial use.
-Be committed to attending work every day other than time spent at the centre on day release for the training.
-Have the skills to understand measurement and have a good eye for detail when making the product
-Understand how to work effectively with other staff and tradesmen on the workshop floor.
-Good communication skills, both verbal and written [for the qualification].
-Ability to understand and carry out instructions as given by the staff and other trades men.
-Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
-Flexible, enthusiastic, ‘can-do’ approach to everyday work.
-Open to change in job requirements Willingness and desire to take responsibility and to use own initiative
-Commitment to own personal development on this apprenticeship and other training to follow
-Other; Good Work Ethic and right attitude to work
-English and Maths at level 1 or above
-Some experience in fabrication and welding
-ICT [preferred but not essential]
