Job Role:

A great opportunity for the right person, working in a busy engineering workshop, alongside fully trained well-paid tradesmen. You will be learning from their experience and will be instructed in working safely whilst producing high-quality products for the building industry. You will also be helping to make products by measuring and cutting material to shape using power tools and hand tools etc. Helping to assemble products by tack welding and screwed fasteners. Some small bench work will be completed but also large-scale work on much bigger projects will be completed on and sometimes off site.

Applying English & Maths In This Role: 

Engineering requires Maths skills regarding things like electrical circuits, computer design for new products etc. Depending on what you do in Engineering you will come across different types of Maths.

Qualifications Required: 

GCSE Maths and English 9-4 (A*- C) or Functional Skills as equivalent (preferred but not essential)

CSCS Card (Not essential, but training can be given if needed to achieve this unit)

Qualifications Gained:

Apprenticeship in Manufacturing (PMO) Level 2

Engineers create and build, these are such vital skills in the industry and can lead you onto big career prospects! Engineers can be expected to be paid a good wage which often goes up with experience.
