This vacancy is for a young learner who is prepared to work in a busy workshop, with highly skilled tradesmen and other apprentices in the Manufacture of High specification structural steel building joists, beams and stanchions.
Be committed to attending work every day other than time spent at the centre on day release for the training.
Have the skills to understand measurement and have a good eye for detail when making the product
Understand how to work effectively with other staff and tradesmen on the workshop floor.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written [for the qualification].
Ability to understand and carry out instructions as given by the staff and other trades men
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexible, enthusiastic, ‘can-do’ approach to everyday work.
Open to change in job requirements
Willingness and desire to take responsibility and to use own initiative when confident enough.
Commitment to own personal development on this apprenticeship ad other training to follow
Other; Good Work Ethic and right attitude to work
- English and Maths at level 1 or above
- Some experience in fabrication and welding [not essential]
- ICT [preferred but not essential]
