Apprentice Administrational Technician with Westland Environmental Safety Ltd

To generate technical reports including inspection reports, survey site plans, bulk analysis certificates, (including all associated hand written) for the review of the technical management team responsible for issue. General administrational office and laboratory duties as required by the office management.


Contact with surveyors and laboratory technicians to communicate outstanding and incomplete data.

Key Responsibilities: Specific

  • Correlation/generation of test and inspection reports and floor plans using Microsoft excel and Visio.
  • Liaison with surveyors and analysts with respect to amendments, floor plans, and laboratory analysis.
  • Scanning and archiving documentation within appropriate system folders on dropbox.
  • External submitted sample receipt.
  • Laboratory sample entry to the asbestoslab system (where demand requires).
  • Point of initial contact for telephone calls made into the office.
  • To pass telephone queries to the relevant member of staff in a timely manner.
  • Involvement in other ad-hoc duties as and when required.

EXPERIENCE: (Tested by Application / Interview) and/or Training

Experience of processing and checking data accurately.
Experience of working on Microsoft Office applications.
Experience of working within the asbestos industry or the desire to gain this experience through research and practical application.
Demonstrated in house training, testing and authorisation for particular tasks.

UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE: (Tested by Application / Interview) 

Awareness of current issues and developments in the asbestos industry or the desire to gain this experience through research and practical application
Understanding of surveying and analytical standards and practice.
The continued development of the company through an enthusiastic and pro-active approach to both internal and external working relationships’.
